On Saturday 20 August 2016, the Royal Arsenal Rugby Club hosted its inaugural gala at the prestigious “Guard House” on the Royal Arsenal.
Welcomed by a red carpet and a string quartet, over 70 guests donned their best dressed, tuxedos and jackets to enjoy an evening of canapés, cocktails and camaraderie.
After a welcoming glass of champagne, the Club heard from its charity of choice, Wooden Spoon, about the excellent work it does in and around the locality, and how the Club is proud to support such a good cause. This was followed by the presentation of several awards to the Club’s members, in recognition of the contributions these individuals have made both on and off the field in this the inaugural season. Finally, members of the Club very generously donated several items for the raffle, with the proceeds being reinvested in the Club to ensure future growth and enjoyment.
An excellent evening all round, which really showcased the Club’s talents as a sporting a social hub. Our thanks to all involved in organising and attending.
