Royal Arsenal Rugby Club is showing up professionally, a club based in Royal Arsenal South East London has its first tag rugby away game this Sat Sept 24th. It has gathered its top tier tag rugby players to challenge Wooden Spoon (Barbarians). They played a home game during their Autumn Blitz this time last year, but unfortunately lost on Blackheath common.
The club was founded in 2014 by John Gavin and Errol Slater after an inspirational tag rugby activity at a friend’s wedding.
Over the past two years the club has traditionally played in Wellington Park on the Royal Arsenal but due to natural growth in member numbers, have a spot at the M.O.D ground south of Woolwich on Sundays at 11am.
The club has developed with great support from local businesses on the Royal Arsenal and because of this they have put an amazing club committee together to fundraise not only for the club but charities too.
They have brought the club thus far in creating their own crest and official kit.
You can follow their progress and indeed the banter by signing up to their monthly newsletter or say hi on social media.
We wish them all the luck on Saturday during their inaugural away game……
